Lisa Stockton was a four-year standout with the Demon Deacons women’s basketball program (1982-86), averaging 12.2 points, 3.0 assists and 1.9 steals for her Wake career. The former lead guard ranks high in a number of the school’s career records, including:

5th in field goals made (592)
7th in field goals attempted (1,262)
9th in steals (206)
10th in assists (330)
T-10th in games started (97)
12th in points (1,347)

Stockton still holds the program record for consecutive games started (97). As a senior, she was named an honorable mention Fast Break All-American. Off the hardwood, Stockton earned a spot on the ACC Academic Honor Roll following each of her final two seasons and graduated cum laude in 1986.

Stockton was drafted by the National Women’s Basketball Association following her senior season but chose instead to begin her coaching career in 1986. She landed her first head coaching position at Greensboro College (1987-90) before leading the Tulane women’s basketball program for 30 years from 1994-2024. She finished as the all-time winningest women’s basketball coach in the state of Louisiana while capturing five Conference USA tournament titles.
