WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Bermuda Run Country Club will be the site for the first annual Dwayne Allen Hall Memorial Golf Tournament, to be held Friday October 15. Over 120 friends, clients and associates of Hall will participate in the event.
The tournament, which is being held to benefit the Wake Forest Athletic Endowment and other charities, honors Hall, a local insurance executive who died unexpectedly last year at age 40.
Already, over $70,000 has been raised through tournament entry fees and local business sponsorships. The event's organizers expect that the annual outing will eventually fully endow a scholarship fund in Hall's memory at Wake Forest.
K& W Cafeterias, Graham & Boles Properties and LEAP Systems, Inc. are the presenting sponsors of the event. A silent auction and reception will be held for the golfers and their guests on Thursday evening, Oct. 14th. WXII news anchor Cameron Kent will emcee the evening's festivities.
Dwayne Allen Hall was a 1981 graduate of Wake Forest and a longtime member of the Deacon Club, along with his parents, Claxton and Alice Hall of Winston-Salem.
