Men's Soccer Suffers First Loss Of Season

CLEMSON, S.C. -- The third-ranked Wake Forest men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season in a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Clemson Tigers Sunday afternoon.

Clemson jumped on top early with a goal at the 2:07 mark by Ian Fuller. Wake Forest tied the game when Viktor Litovka scored at the 51:03 mark off assists from Greg Krauss and Jamal Seale. Fuller put Clemson ahead for good with his second goal of the day at the 58:30 mark, giving the Tigers a 2-1 lead. Mike Potempa made the score 3-1 with his goal 65:29 into the game and Ross Goodacre added the game's final goal at the 89:54 mark to give the Tigers the 4-1 win.

With the loss, Wake Forest drops to 11-1-5 overall and 2-1-3 in the ACC. Clemson improves to 9-7-2 overall and 2-2-2 in conference play with the win. The game concludes the regular season for the Deacons. They will next be in action at the ACC Men's Soccer Tournament November 11,12 and 14 at Spry Stadium.
