Marta Prieto Named Women's Golf Rookie of the Year

GREENSBORO, NC--The Wake Forest Demon Deacons landed two people on the 1998 All-Conference Women's Golf team, including one of the co-Rookies of the Year, as selected by the league's four head coaches. The final three positions were split among Duke, North Carolina and Florida State.
Wake Forest freshman Marta Prieto, who led the ACC Championship from start to finish while earning medalist honors, grabbed a share of the Rookie of the Year honor in addition to being a member of the All-ACC team. Prieto was joined by teammate Alexandra Armas on the All-Conference team. Armas, a senior, has been a member of the team three times during her career.
The remaining three positions on the All-Conference team were claimed by ACC Player of the Year Jenny Chuasiriporn from Duke, North Carolina senior Megan Morgan, and Florida State's Amy Bond.
Kalen Anderson from Duke shared the 1998 Rookie of the Year award with Prieto.
Duke head coach Dan Brooks was named ACC Coach of the Year for the third straight season and the fourth time in his career.
