WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Junior forward Greg Krauss netted a goal and an assist to lift the Wake Forest men's soccer team to a 3-0 win over visiting High Point in front of 1,032 fans at Spry Stadium on Saturday night. The win improved the Demon Deacons' record to 9-3-1 on the season, while High Point dropped to 8-7 overall.
Krauss got the Deacs on the board just 4:53 into the match, scoring from 10 yards out off a pass from junior Viktor Litovka. Senior midfielder Kyle Bachmeier increased Wake's lead to 2-0 at the 11:02 mark, scoring directly off a corner kick. Senior midfielder Serge Daniv then iced the win in the second half with a goal at the 55:17 mark, set up by Krauss.
Wake outshot the Panthers by a 23-4 margin and held a 10-1 edge in corner kicks. High Point's Dwayne Adams made seven saves in goal for the Panthers, while junior Sean Conner and sophomore Todd Zolcinski combined for three saves in goal to share the shutout for the Deacs. Wake Forest next hosts Charleston Southern on Tuesday, October 20th, at 7:00 pm.
