Two Local Football Players Honored at Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Running back Chris McCoy and defensive lineman Kelvin Jones, both products of Winston-Salem high schools, were named recipients of the 1998 Beattie Feathers Award at the conclusion of spring football practice at Wake Forest.
The award is annually presented to two players, one on offense and one on defense, who have displayed outstanding improvement and work ethic during offseason drills.
McCoy is a redshirt freshman from Reynolds High School. Jones is a junior from Mount Tabor High.
The Beattie Feathers Award is named in honor of the former Demon Deacon assistant coach who is a member of the National College Football Hall of Fame.
