Women's Basketball Outlasts Providence, 80-73

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons defeated the Providence Friars on Tuesday evening, 80-73 in the Providence Civic Center in Providence, RI. Down by as many as 14 points with six minutes remaining, the Friars closed the gap to get as close as 67-62 with 4:16 left. The Deacs held on for their second victory of the season and second consecutive win against the Friars.
Providence guard Chrissy Vozab (Fr, Amenia, NY) tallied a career high 30 points (12-15 fg) to lead all scorers. She was 5-7 from three-point territory, dished out five assists and played in all 40 minutes of the contest.
Wake Forest was led by Emon McMillian with a career high 23 points (9-15 fg) and a game high 12 boards. The Deacs shot 42% from the floor and held the Friars to only 36% and a season low 58% mark from the free-throw line. Wake Forest held the 49-40 advantage on the boards.
