WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest football team concluded the two-a-day portion of its 1998 preseason practice schedule here Monday with workouts at 6:45 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The Demon Deacons will begin their normal in-season routine Tuesday with one practice at 4:00 as they continue preparations for the season opener at Air Force on September 5th, which will be televised nationally on ESPN2.
Brian Kuklick, the Deacon starting quarterback the past two years, did not participate in either practice Monday while he recovers from a sprained knee. Kuklick sustained the injury last Thursday when a defensive player was blocked into him during a live scrimmage session and has missed three days of contact work.
Caldwell said Monday that Kuklick is recovering quickly, though, and is expected to return to practice later this week.
