WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest freshman midfielder Jamal Seale (Overland Park, KS/Blue Valley NW) was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference's Men's Soccer Co-Player of the Week after his outstanding performance in his first week of collegiate play.
Seale helped the Demon Deacons to a 3-0 start on the season, leading the team in scoring in the first week of action with three goals and two assists. Seale earned Tournament MVP honors over the weekend in the Nike-Wake Forest Classic, as WFU defeated San Francisco, 2-1, and St. Bonaventure, 5-0, to win the tournament title. Seale scored the game-winning goal in the victory over USF, then tallied two goals and two assists, including another game-winning goal, in the win over St. Bonnie's in the championship match.
The son of Elson Seale, a former professional soccer player, Jamal was the 1997 Kansas Gatorade High School Player of the Year and a member of the U.S. national youth teams from 1995-97.
