DAVIDSON, N.C. - There was no letdown for the men's soccer team of Wake Forest after knocking off Washington, at the time ranked #1 in one poll, last Sunday. The 4-1 victory for the Demon Deacons over Davidson (1-11) pushed their record to 6-2-1.
Junior Greg Krauss scored two goals in the second half to turn a 2-1 lead at halftime into a blowout. The first was assisted by junior Viktor Litovka at the 50:48 mark while the second came off a pass from senior Kyle Bachmeier at 60:09.
Wake Forest built a 2-1 halftime lead on the strength of goals by freshman Chris Lonteen and junior David Kaweesi-Mukooza.
Davidson's lone goal came with the help of Kaweesi-Mukooza. The Wildcats sent a cross into the box and Kaweesi-Mukooza was there to break up the scoring opportunity. However, his header ended up in the back of the goal.
The Wildcats managed just two shots on goal, while Wake Forest rapped out 14 shots,
Davidson will next play on Sunday in Charleston against the newest Southern Conference member, the College of Charleston. The Cougars have struggled this year, much like the Wildcats, against an extremely tough schedule, posting a record of 1-8 thus far. Game time is at 2:00 p.m.
