WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest senior linebacker Kelvin Moses has been named to the preseason checklist for the "Butkus Award," which is presented annually to the nation's best collegiate linebacker by the Downtown Athletic Club of Orlando.

The 6'2, 232-pound Moses is the first Demon Deacon player ever to be included in nominations for this award, named in honor of the former all-pro linebacker of the Chicago Bears, Dick Butkus. The award was founded in 1985.

Moses, a starter since his freshman season, led the Deacs in tackles in 1996 with 128. He was second on last year's squad with 85 stops and enters the upcoming season with a total of 317 career tackles, 11th on the all-time WFU career chart.
