Deacons Add Five Newcomers To Spring Football Roster

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest football team has announced the addition of five newcomers to its spring 2000 roster. All three players have enrolled at the university for the spring academic semester and began attending classes last week.
KELLEN BRANTLEY (Linebacker, 6-3, 227)
A graduate of Miami Coral Park High School, where he earned all-county and all-district honors as a linebacker ... completed a post-graduate year at Hargrave Military Academy, where he played the "rover" linebacker position.
SETH HOUK (Offensive Guard, 6-3, 300)
A transfer from Garden City Community College in Kansas, where he played two years ... helped the Broncbusters to a 10-2 record in 1999 ... a graduate of Valley Center High School in Valley Center, KS, where he played both offensive and defensive tackle and earned first-team all-state honors.
MARK MOROZ (Tight End, 6-4, 247)
The latest Canadian import to join the Deacons ... a graduate of Notre Dame College High School in Welland, Ontario ... team MVP and a two-year captain in high school ... earned All-Canadian honors.
MARCUS NESBITT (Linebacker, 6-1, 220)
A graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, DC, where he played both linebacker and tailback ... a three-year all-conference pick and a Super Prep All-American ... played the 1998 season at Hargrave Military Academy, leading the team in tackles during a 7-4 campaign.
DAVID WALTERS (Offensive Guard, 6-3, 294)
A transfer from the University of Iowa ... a graduate of Cherokee High School in Marlton, NJ ... played offensive tackle and defensive end in high school, earning all-state honors ... redshirted the 1998 season at Iowa and did not see action in 1999.
Head Coach Jim Caldwell has also announced the return of defensive back ELLIOTT IVEY and fullback MATT MYERS to the squad. Both players elected to leave the team last fall for personal reasons. In addition, defensive end MAT PETZ, who was academically ineligible to compete in the fall of 1999, will not return to the squad due to a violation of team rules.
