Box Score

  • Defensive end Bryan Ray recorded his 25th career start against the Commodores. The senior has started 19 straight contests dating back to his sophomore season.
  • Junior fullback Rhamen Love-Lane earned the starting nod ahead of Ovie Mughelli for the first time this season. It is the second career start for Love-Lane, who started against Florida State last season.
  • Anthony Young's 35-yard run in the first quarter tied the fourth-longest run from scrimmage for the Deacons so far this season. Young, a freshman quarterback, holds three of those top four rushes (55, 53 and 35 yards).
  • Fabian Davis's 40-yard reception just before halftime was the second-longest reception of the season up to that point. Junior receiver Jax Landfried bettered that mark when he recorded the season's longest catch, a 51-yarder in the fourth quarter for his first career grab. Both passes came from quarterback James MacPherson.
  • Redshirt freshman Obi Chukwumah recorded his first career interception, when he picked off Greg Zolman's pass late in the third quarter. It was WFU's first interception since picking off two against Appalachian State in the season opener.
  • Running back Fred Staton, a true freshman, enjoyed his most productive day as a Deacon, rushing for 62 yards on 14 carries.
