Men's Golf In 15th Place

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Wake Forest men's golf team is currently in 15th place out of 20 teams after one round of the Golf World/Palmetto Dunes Invitational, held at the Arthur Hills Golf Course at Palmetto Dunes. The Deacons shot an even-par 288, 20 strokes back of field leader Georgia.

Deacon freshman Bill Haas (Greer, SC) and junior Jay Morgan (Choctaw, OK) both turned in a team-best two-under 70 on Friday's round. The duo is currently tied for 25th individually and is five strokes back of individual leader Cody Beyer of Arizona.

Sophomore Brent Wanner (Chatham, MA) turned in a 73 and is in 53rd, while sophomore Cortland Lowe (Augusta, GA) had a 75 and sophomore Buck Williams (Raleigh, NC) carded a 76.

The second round of the tournament takes place Saturday with the final 18 on Sunday.
