Winston-Salem, N.C. -- Wake Forest's Ben Stafford was one of 36 college seniors chosen to play in the prestigious Umbro Select Tournament February 1st-4th at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The Umbro Select features a major international soccer match along with all-star games with the top senior collegiate players from across the United States. For the college all-stars, it is one last chance to impress MLS scouts before the league's draft.

Stafford, a native of Signal Mountain, Tenn., will play on the East Squad along with five former ACC standouts.

Stafford, a first-team All-ACC selection in 2000, finished a spectacular four-year career at Wake Forest in the fall as the school's second all-time leading scorer (91 points). In 2000, he posted the second highest single season point total in Wake history with 38 points (16 goals, 6 assists). He scored the game-winning goal in six of the 10 Demon Deacon victories.
