Men's Golf Completes Day Two Of NCAA East Regional

Moosic, PA - The Wake Forest Men's Golf Team completed the second round of the NCAA East Regional today at the Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic, PA. The Deacs, who finished in fifth place yesterday, fell to tenth place today. The top 11 teams advance to the NCAA Golf Championship which will be held at the Grand National Golf Course in Auburn, AL.
In the East Regional, six ACC team are in the Top 10 with Clemson, Georgia Tech, and North Carolina occupying the top three spots, respectively. The Deacons are currently tied with Virginia for tenth place. Clemson has a two round total of 581, 13 over par, while the Deacs have shot 602, 34 over par.
Individually, Carl Peterson of North Carolina State is in command of first place with a two day total of 138, four under par. For the Deacons, freshmen Brent Wanner and Chris Yoder lead the Deacons with two day totals of 150 with Wanner shooting 81 and Yoder shooting 77 today. Freshman Chad Wilfong shot 79 today to give him a two day total of 152. Sophomore Jay Morgan and freshman Buck Williams shot 81 and 78 to bring them up to 153 and 161, respectively, rounding out the Deacons scoring in the second round.
East Regional play will resume tomorrow morning at approximately 7:10 a.m.
