WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Tate Decker, a reserve forward on Wake Forest's 2000 NIT championship team, will transfer to another school, Demon Deacon head coach Dave Odom confirmed today.
Decker, 6-10, must transfer to a non-Division I school, where he will be eligible immediately and have one year of eligibility remaining. The Webster Groves (Mo.) native originally came to Wake Forest in 1998 after transferring from the University of Missouri. He played just one season at WFU - the 1999-00 season - where he saw action in 16 games and averaged 2.8 points and 1.3 rebounds per game.
"Though I am disappointed that things did not work out for Tate here at Wake Forest, I understand and support his decision," Odom said. "I wish him well and will follow his progress with great interest."
