Head coach Jim Grobe

On Clemson game

"We turned the ball over too many times on Saturday. We had other opportunities throughout the game, it wasn't just turnovers. We had a couple penalties that didn't help us. Overall we had great effort from our players we just didn't do the things down the stretch."

"We are disappointed but you hold your head up and do the best you can."

On coach projecting positive image

"We actually talked to the kids before the season started. A proposition I gave to them if we are 0-10 how hard are you going to play in the last game and if we are 10-0 how hard are we going to play. We talked about it being a season and that we are in it for the long haul."

On Virginia (against NC State)

"I think NC State played real well. Virginia had several good opportunities. You look at the final score and think that NC State had a pretty easy day but it was a pretty even football game."

On Virginia's wide receiver, Billy McMullen

"It is a major concern. The guy this past weekend passed Herman Moore for the single season receiving record and Virginia still has four games left. They really have a good group of receivers and a couple tight ends that are really excellent players. The thing that bothers you the most is that not only do they have good receiver but they have good height."

On knowing Al Groh

"The year I was redshirted at Virginia Coach Groh was coaching the defensive line there. The following year he went to North Carolina so I got to spend a season around him. Very intense guy, great guy, really good person and great football coach."

On getting a break (creating or has to happen?)

"We really have had three football games, Maryland, NC State and Clemson, that we could have won. You would like to think over a course of a season that they would balance out. I'm proud of our guys for being in them but would like to get over that hump and win the rest of them down the stretch."

On Anthony Young's and Tarence Williams' injuries

"With Anthony we are still day-to-day. I am a little concerned about Tarence. He wants to come back in the worst way. He's a guy that would play without a foot if he could. He wants to play so bad on Saturday but we just have to be really careful with him. I don't want to put him out there before he is ready. I'm skeptical that he will play against Virginia."

WAKE FOREST PLAYERS
Jax Lanfried, Junior Wide Receiver

On the team after three close losses

"We are definitely frustrated. We were a play away from a big play and winning the game. Its tough to swallow [losing three close games], we need to keep our heads up and focus on the next game."

On the new coaching style

"We have had to adapt to a new coach, how he coaches, and the new style [of football] that we are playing. The offense is great, and the defense is playing really well. We just need to work on our turnovers and penalties."

On playing with the two quarterback system

"There are not many adjustments I have to make because the two quarterbacks both alternate. We don't have that one starting quarterback, so both players play a lot and that allows the rest of the offense to be comfortable with each player."

Obi Chukwumah, Sophomore Defensive Back

On playing Virginia

"I saw them play once this year, against Clemson. They have an exciting [defense] that gets to the ball. They have had a few tough losses this year. They'll be ready for us."

On the three losses

"Its very frustrating. You think about the little things after the game. But you can't focus on them after the game is over. We know we can play with anyone in the league. We just need to get it done. We are a lot stronger, but we must take command of the game at the end."

On Coach Grobe

"Coach has got a swagger about him. He's got all the confidence in us, and we have confidence in him. His confidence rubs off on us. He doesn't quit on us, nor does he quit on the season after a few tough losses."
