CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Coretta Brown scored 23 points to lead five North Carolina teammates in double figures as the No. 18 Tar Heels beat Wake Forest 90-68 Wednesday night.

Nikki Teasley scored 18 points for North Carolina (8-1, 1-0 ACC). Teasley scored 13 in the first half to help the Tar Heels to a 47-38 lead at halftime.

Chrystal Baptist finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds, both career highs, for North Carolina. Candace Sutton and Kenya McBee each added 10 points.

Tonia Brown had 17 points, and Jennifer Johnson 16 for Wake Forest (2-4, 0-1). LaChina Robinson added 10 points.

Wake Forest took advantage of North Carolina's 4-of-12 shooting early in the second half to get within 66-60 on a 3-pointer by Erin Ferrell with 10:36 left.

The Deacons missed 14 of their last 16 shots as North Carolina closed with a 24-6 run.
