Winston-Salem, NC - Junior defender Aaron Thomas and sophomore forward Jeremiah White of the Wake Forest men's soccer team were selected to the CollegeSoccer.com All-America teams. Both players received third team honors. Thomas and White become the fifth and sixth All-Americans in school history, the first since 1998.

Thomas and White led Wake Forest to an NCAA Tournament appearance and a 13-6-2 overall record. Earlier this season, both players were selected by the league's coaches to the All-ACC first team.

White, a native of Lansdowne, Pa., was the ACC's leading scorer, the first Demon Deacon to accomplish the feat since 1983. He finished with 15 goals and seven assists, scoring nearly two points per game to rank 13th nationally. During the regular season, White scored in 11 straight games.

Thomas, the team captain as a sophomore and a junior, was the team's sixth-leading scorer from his defender position. The Downingtown, Pa., native, scored a key goal against Duke in the ACC Tournament and the game-winner against North Carolina in the regular season. The vocal leader of the team, Thomas led a defense that allowed just 19 goals in 21 games.

"This is a tremendous honor for both the boys and our program. We're very proud of them," head coach Jay Vidovich said. "Both will be back next year and this is a great start for 2002."

Thomas and White were also named first team All-South region on Friday. Sophomore Brian Carroll was named to the second team. Those three, along with second team All-ACC goalkeeper William Hesmer, will headline a group of 10 returning starters for the 2002 Demon Deacons.
