Women's Soccer Signs Three

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Wake Forest women's soccer head coach Tony da Luz received signed letters of intent from April Raymer, Alli Hunt and Courtney McCrudden to attend Wake Forest University and to play women's soccer for the Demon Deacons next fall.
"We are very excited about this recruiting class," said da Luz. "They are a versatile group that will give us tons of options next year with us only losing two seniors."
Raymer, a midfielder from Marietta, GA, is a Region III Team member in the Olympic Development Program. A member of Georgia's state team for the past eight years, Raymer also plays on a club team, TopHatters ?00 Gold. The team captain the last three seasons, Raymer has started every game for Wheeler High School. She earned all-county honors last season and was named the team's most valuable player. An honor roll student, Raymer is involved in Student Council, Leadership Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Future Business Leaders of America.
McCrudden, a forward from Voorhees, NJ, is a member of the Olympic Development Program state team, Region I Team and the National Pool. A two-time all-state selection at Eastern Regional High School, McCrudden also earned all-conference honors twice. McCrudden also plays soccer for a club team, Roxbury MC Dynamo. A letterwinner for the track team at Eastern Regional High School, McCrudden runs the 800-Meter Run in 2:21 and anchored the 4x800-Meter Relay team that won the state championship. An honor roll student, McCrudden is involved with Student Council, Varsity Club, she volunteers at a Pediatric Home, works as a USSF referee and serves as a counselor at summer youth soccer camps.
Hunt, a midfielder from Charlotte, NC, is the captain of her club team, '81 Ladies Blue. Named the most valuable player last season, she led the team to the 2000 North Carolina state championship. Also a participant in the Olympic Development Program, Hunt is the captain of the state team and region team and has also been invited to four national camps. Hunt led the state team to the Region III championship this year and will compete for the National Championship this March in Las Vegas, NV. She also attended the select Adidas ESP Camp the last two years. Hunt, who is in her fourth season at Charlotte Country Day High School, is a two-time conference Player of the Year and the 2000 Region II Player of the Year. A three-time all-state selection, three-time all-region selection, three-time all-conference selection, Hunt has led Charlotte Country Day to the state semifinals three straight years. Hunt is a honor roll student and was listed in the 1999 Who's Who Among American High School Students. She is a member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Leadership Conference, Interact Club, SADD, and Aquilifer. Hunt participates in the Carolinas Medical Center Sick Child Visitation Program, she volunteers in the NC Special Olympics as well as the Harris YMCA Community Outreach.
