Wake Forest Football Honored for Graduation Rate

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Wake Forest football has received honorable mention from the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) for its high graduation rate in the organization's annual Academic Achievement Award program. The AFCA honors the team with the highest graduation rate nationally as well as making honorable mention of those schools who posted rates of 70 percent or better.
Wake Forest was one of 28 schools nationally receiving the honor in 2001, for its 89 percent graduation rate of the 1995-96 freshman class. The Deacon football team was one of three programs in the ACC to be recognized, as Duke and Virginia also received honorable mention.
Wake Forest has received honorable mention accolades by the AFCA for nine consecutive years and 10 times overall for its graduation rate of 70 percent or better. In 1995, WFU was the winner of the Academic Achievement Award.
