Greensboro, N.C. - Wake Forest quarterback/punter James MacPherson was named ACC Specialist of the Week following his punting performance in the Deacons' 27-20 loss to Maryland this past Saturday. In just his second week as the starting punter, MacPherson boomed five punts for an average of 48.8 yards per kick against Maryland, including a career-long punt of 56 yards. Better known as a quarterback, the native of Tucson, Ariz., also completed 16 of 29 passes for 214 yards, including a career-long 42-yard touchdown pass.
MacPherson becomes the fourth Demon Deacon to earn ACC weekly accolades this season, joining Tarence Williams (offensive back), Michael Collins (offensive lineman) and Marcus McGruder (rookie), who all earned the honor following Wake's win over East Carolina in the season opener.
