HEAD COACH JIM GROBE
On Florida State
"I've never played against Florida State. They are probably have been the best football program over the last 15 years in the country. They are a very talented football team that really has the combination of speed, size and power that you look for in terms of a football team. They are very impressive."
On Missed Tackles Versus Maryland
"We missed some tackles, there is no question about it. I think the thing that people forget is that other teams play hard too. I thought their running back Bruce Perry was really good. He was more physical than I thought. He did a nice job breaking tackles. We work on tackling every week but more than anything else I give him the credit because he made us miss plays.
On Confidence of Deacon Players
"I think that are confidence isn't hurt at all. I think we have some kids that are hurt by our loss. The problem with young guys is that they generally learn by experience. We really won our first two games in the fourth quarter. The problem with that is if you live your life like that you eventually get caught. That's what happened against Maryland. Our guys really thought we were going to win and we ran out of time."
On Intimidation Versus Florida State
"Our don't think our kids will be intimidated by anybody, they certainly will be a great challenge. They have proven year end and year out that not only are they a great team but also rebound pretty well."
On Rebounding Back After Loss
"Our guys are intense and really want to play better and get another team. Unfortunately that happens to be one of the better teams in the country. Our guys are competitive and anytime you lose you want to get back on the winning track."
On No Huddle Offense
"It will cause us some problems but we have three games under our belt now and we learned at East Carolina, which is not nearly as tough as Tallahassee. We have different people signaling and demand that all our players learn the signals."
DEMON DEACON PLAYERS
Calvin PaceJunior Defensive End
On Giving Up 500+ Yards v. Maryland
"At times and situations we had breakdowns. On Monday we corrected those things. We'll be ready for Florida State."
"[This week] we're going to be more sound. Giving up 500 yards is not Wake Forest at all. You can't win giving up that many yards. Even though we gave up 500 plus yards we were still in the game at the end. We just kept playing hard. The coaching staff said till the end 'We're still going to win the game.'"
On Playing FSU After Loss to UNC
"It will be harder to play them, but whether they win or lose it will still be a fight in Tallahassee."
Marquis HopkinsSenior Inside Linebacker
On Difference in Coaching Since Loss to UNC
"The coaches haven't been different. They [Maryland] came ready to play, we didn't. Everybody hurt the same. Coach didn't have to say much."
Fabian DavisJunior Wide Receiver
On Playing FSU After Loss to UNC
"It's going to be a tough game. They will be fired up because they just lost a game. We are learning from our loss and will be prepared."
"In my personal opinion there's no such thing as an unbeatable team. They [FSU] look more beatable on film, but you still have to play the game. We've played FSU tough no matter how good they have been."
