On Maryland Loss
"We were disappointed after the Maryland game. Maryland is a good football team. I was very impressed with them in every area. We thought we had a chance to win that game but Maryland just out played us. I was proud of our kids. I thought they played real hard. We made it interesting in the four quarter, but we just dug too deep a hole for ourselves early in the game."
On Florida State's Loss to North Carolina
"They are a typical Florida State team. They have great talent and are well coached. They got surprised at North Carolina. I have always felt that North Carolina is a heck of a football team. They played such a tough schedule starting out that it was hard to draw a beat on them. I think Florida State found out that North Carolina is a pretty good football team. Florida State had five turnovers."
On Scouting Florida State
"Looking at Florida State you don't see a whole lot of weaknesses. We see a team that is going to be really dangerous now. If you look at their track record every time in the past that Florida State has gotten upset they have come back great guns. We expect them to be in a bad mood and ready to play. Unfortunately I think we are going to catch them at their best."
On Wake's Condition Coming Off a Loss
"Our guys were feeling pretty good about ourselves and had some confidence and then played what was a pretty good Maryland team and had a chance to win that one at home and didn't get it done. Our guys are not very happy that we didn't play very well against Maryland. Not to take anything away from Maryland. I thought they played well and just beat us. They are looking forward to another football game. I would expect us to be a better football team this Saturday than last Saturday, we just happen to be playing a great football team."
On Tarence Williams' Third Straight 100-Yard Game
"We are happy for him. He has good ability. I don't Tarence played as well Saturday as he is capable of. He had an exceptional game against East Carolina and played pretty good football against Appalachian. I did not think he played as well Saturday against Maryland as he is capable of. He has better vision than he showed Saturday. Of course you have to give credit to Maryland's defense. They were top-10 in the nation in rushing defense. I expect Tarence to play better going up against one of the better rushing defenses in the country. I am happy with where he is right now but has a chance to be better."
