Taggart And Roeck To Play In All-Star Game

Wake Forest women's soccer seniors Emily Taggart and Stacy Roeck have been selected to compete in the 2002 Umbro Select College All-Star Classic, Feb. 10 at Lockhart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Thirty-seven college seniors were chosen to compete - eight from the ACC. Taggart, a senior forward from Pleasanton, CA, will play for the East and Roeck, a senior defender/forward from Solana Beach, CA, will play for the West. WUSA scouts and coaches will hold a combine for the Select Classic participants on Feb. 8 and 9 and then further evaluate them during the All-Star Game on Feb. 10.
The Women's College All-Star Game begins at 2:00 p.m. on Feb. 10. Following the conclusion of that game will be Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA) All-Star Game.
The WUSA holds its draft at 9:00 a.m. on Feb. 11 in Ft. Lauderdale's Sunrise Hilton.
Taggart, a four-time All-ACC selection, is the all-time goal-scoring leader at Wake Forest with 29 career goals. She ranks second in all-time scoring at Wake Forest with 76 career points and second on the all-time assists list with 18 career assists. Taggart was the team's second leading scorer this past season, behind Roeck, with eight goals and three assists.
Roeck, a three-time All-ACC selection, led the team in scoring this past season with nine goals and two assists. She ranks third on Wake Forest's all-time scoring list with 59 career points, third with 26 career goals, third with 83 games played and third with 80 games started.
