Parkhurst Shares Weekly ACC Men's Soccer Honor

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest freshman defender Michael Parkhurst shares this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors with Clemson's Dimelon Westfield.
Parkhurst, a native of Cranston, R.I., and graduate of the Bradenton Soccer Academy in Florida, earned the recognition after anchoring the Demon Deacon defense in a 1-0 shutout of 11th-ranked South Carolina on Friday night at Spry Stadium. Parkhurst plays central defender on a Wake Forest team that has shutout its last five opponents. The Deacons last allowed a goal on September 21st at top-ranked St. John's. That is a span of 555 minutes.
The second-ranked Deacons (9-0-2, 3-0 ACC) host fourth-ranked Clemson (9-1-1, 2-1) on Saturday night at Spry Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
