Calvin Pace Named ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest senior defensive end Calvin Pace (Douglasville, Ga.) was named ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week, as announced by the ACC office on Monday. It his second such honor of the season.
Pace recorded his 28th and 29th career sacks in Wake Forest??s 31-0 shutout of the North Carolina Tar Heels, moving him to within one sack of tying Wake??s all-time record-holder, Michael McCrary, who had 30 sacks from 1989-92. The 6-6, 270 senior has eight sacks on the season, which ranks tied for seventh in Wake history for single-season sacks. The defensive end currently leads the league in both sacks and TFL.
Wake Forest has picked up seven weekly conference honors this season.
The Demon Deacons, 5-4 overall and 3-3 in the ACC, host Florida State on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Groves Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. on espn2.
