Head Coach Jim Grobe
On last year??s Maryland game being close: ??I sensed last year when we came off the field, the score was pretty close, but Maryland kind of took it to us a little bit more than we did to them. For us to get a chance to win, we have got to do a better job of stopping their running game and offensively, we have to play consistently.??
??We are a little beat up. Maryland is a pretty physical team, so we are going to take our best shot.??
On Maryland coming off a loss: ??You never know how teams are going to bounce back. Maryland??s got a great reputation to motivate their players, so I think they will bounce back They have won a ton of games.??
On the bowl possibilities: ??We are trying to not spend a lot of time thinking about bowl games, but now we are in a situation where it counts. Last year we were bowl-eligible and didn??t get a bid, so hopefully this year our situation will be a little bit better.??
Sophomore Strong Safety Warren Braxton
On being bowl-eligible: ??They say we??re bowl-eligible with six wins, but last year we won six game sand didn??t get picked up, so we need to get a seventh win.??
??We feel when we go and play, we can beat anybody. It doesn??t depend on too much how that team is doing, it depends on if we are going to come out and play hard or not.??
??I don't think we are going to come out flat. I think we are going to come ready to play.??
On Maryland??s loss at Virginia: ??I know that UVa played really well against Maryland and it was a tough loss for Maryland, so they are going to be ready for us when we go up there. They are going to be fired up and ready to compete.??
Senior Running Back Tarence Williams
??You don't want this to be your last game, especially if you??re a senior. We want to be in a bowl game, especially after what happened to us last year and us being bowl-eligible.??
On the team??s bowl chances: ??I think that if we win our seventh game we will get a bid. I don??t know that much about bowl stuff, but a win on Saturday will definitely help our chances. The team feels the same way I do. They really want a bowl game. Maryland??s going to be tough. When we went up there my sophomore year, it was a really tough place to play. To come in there and play a team that just got beat will be a challenge.??
On Maryland??s E.J. Henderson: ??We will be going up against one of the best linebackers in the league, but I am pretty confident that we can get the job done.??
On being a senior: ??It hasn??t hit me yet that I may be playing my last college game on Saturday and it probably won??t until after the game, win or lose. It??s going to be tough because I love the game so much and it doesn??t get much better than college football.??
