WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest??s women??s basketball rosters increased by two this week, with the additions of junior Tracy Alston and freshman Keila Evans.

Due to a violation of team policy, Alston, a 5-10 forward from Raleigh, N.C., was not able to participate on the squad during the fall semester. But as of this week she has rejoined the team and will dress for the first time this season when the Deacons host Western Carolina on Wednesday.

Alston, one of the team??s three returning starters, scored 4.2 points per game a year ago and was the Deacs?? top returning rebounder entering this season, averaging 4.8 boards a game.

In addition to Alston??s return, the Demon Deacons got another boost to the roster with the arrival of Evans, 6-3 forward out of Baltimore, Md. Evans, who signed with Wake Forest in November 2001, qualified to enroll at the University this fall.

Ranked 72nd nationally in last year??s recruiting class by the All-Star Girls?? Report, Evans helped lead St. Frances Academy to the single A state championship last season, averaging 12 points, 15 rebounds and seven blocks per game. A versatile athlete who can play anywhere from small forward to center, Evans was an honorable mention All-America selection by Street & Smith??s.

Tomorrow??s game is ??Middle School Day?? at Joel Coliseum, with over 4,000 area students attending the matchup between the 6-1 Demon Deacons and Western Carolina, also 6-1 on the season. Tipoff is set for 11:30 a.m. at Joel Coliseum and is open to the public with free admission.
