SEATTLE, Wash. - I want to start off by wishing all the Deacon fans across the country a Merry Christmas!
Waking up on Christmas Day was a little bit different. It's hard being away from the family on Christmas. I had a little reminder of home from my parents - they had sent me a package that was waiting for me when I woke up. It was a Christmas card signed by all my family and friends back home wishing me luck and Merry Christmas. That made me miss home a little bit.
I then started the day off by calling my girlfriend, Jordan, and family and friends, and I wished them Merry Christmas.
We didn't have a lot planned today, except for brunch and then we went over to GameWorks. I wasn't sure if I felt like going over at first. Now I'm glad I did. We had a really good time. They had every game you could think of in that place. My favorite was the Indy Car racing where you could race with other guys on the team. I pretty much was the best at that game - I beat Tim Bennett, Vince Azzolina, Coach Faircloth and Tom Kleinlein every time we raced. They didn't give me the credit I deserved!
After that we walked around the city a little bit - it was raining, but I guess that's to be expected in Seattle. This city is amazing, it's a little bit different than what I'm used to back home in Hamilton.
We had a lot of time before dinner. I spent most of the time in my room watching TV and relaxing. Dinner was definitely worth the wait. I think Josh (Warren) tried every dessert they had offered - he's definitely paying for it tonight! After dinner a lot of guys wanted to go out and see Seattle a little bit more. I'm pretty tired and getting anxious to start bowl practices. I think tonight Josh and I are just going to rent a movie and stay in and relax.
Before I go to bed I want to wish a very special Merry Christmas to my Mom and Dad, my brother Wade, his wife Jody, my niece Taylor, Jordan, Mary Jo, Joe, Alan, Stacey, and Gavin, who celebrated her first Christmas today!
