SEATTLE, Wash. - This morning I woke up about 7:30. We were a little bit late so we rushed down to breakfast. It was a typical football meal, we were busting on each other here and busting on each other there. We were also pumping up Steve Vallos, who's going to represent us in the rib-eating contest (on Sunday).
After breakfast, we were waiting to go into meetings. All the offensive lineman were hanging around and having a little fun. I lay down for just a second and Tyson and Blake decided to drag me across the floor - they thought they'd have their little playtime.
After that we went to meetings. We studied some film on Oregon, went through their defense. Coach Calhoun went through some of the game plan. Then we went out to practice, but it was so windy we ended up at the University of Washington's indoor facility.
After practice Chris Owen, Damon McWhite, and I went to Swedish Hospital to visit with some kids - we had a great time. It was an experience I'll cherish for a long time. It was a great opportunity for us to see some less fortunate children and be positive role models.
After that we came back to the hotel, had a quick lunch, then went shopping with Blake and Tyson and the rest of the guys. I did some shopping for my girl, and of course got busted on.
This afternoon we went to the EMP (Experience Music Project). It was a great experience. I looked for a karaoke machine but couldn't find one. Both teams were there, and they had a dance contest between the two teams. Anthony Young, Tarence Williams and Napoleon Sykes went up there for us and we were rooting them on. We lost but we definitely thought we should have won.
Afterwards we caught the monorail back, saw some more of the city. It's a great place, I'm really happy to be here.
Right now, I'm just getting ready for a night on the town with James (MacPherson) and his family - see a movie, walk around, then have a good night's sleep and get ready for the next morning.
I want to say hello to my whole family - my four brothers and sisters, my parents and a special shout-out to my three nephews - Zachary, Jeremy and Michael and my beautiful niece, Nina. I blessed to have the opportunity to be out here in Seattle.
