Winstead Receives Soccer America Weekly Honor

Wake Forest women??s soccer junior midfielder Katherine Winstead was named to the Soccer America Team of the Week for games played between Sept. 3-8. Winstead was one of three midfielders selected nationally for the weekly honor.

Against Elon on Sept. 3, Winstead contributed one goal and one assist to the Demon Deacons?? 5-0 victory. In the 3-1 triumph over Georgia Sept. 6, Winstead scored two goals, including the game-winner, and set up a third.

This is the second award of the week recognizing Winstead??s efforts, as she was also tabbed co-ACC Player of the Week on Monday.

Wake Forest, 5-0 on the season and ranked 13th in the nation, hosts the Wake Forest adidas Invitational this weekend and will play USC at 7:30 pm on Friday and Loyola Marymount at 1:00 pm on Sunday at Spry Stadium.
