* Tonight's game captains for Wake Forest are #72 Blake Henry and #25 Quintin Williams.
* Wake Forest's first three scores in the first half were scored by players who did not see action for the Deacs last season, including sophomore walkon placekicker Matt Wisnosky, true freshman Chris Barclay and redshirt freshman Cornelius Birgs.
* Wake Forest's 27 points at the half were the most scored in a single half since scoring 32 in the second half at North Carolina on Nov. 10 of last season.
* Wake Forest's 17-point lead at halftime (27-10) was the biggest halftime lead the Deacs have had over an opponent since the 2001 season finale against Northern Illinois, when they led 24-7.
* Wake's halftime lead also marked the first time the Deacons have led the Cavaliers since the 1997 season, when it led 10-7 at the break in Charlottesville. Virginia went on to win the game, 21-13.
* Wake Forest has scored 30+ points in six of the last nine games and has scored 24+ points in 13 of 16 games in the Jim Grobe era.
* The two teams combined for 72 points tonight, the third-highest point total in the WFU-Virginia series.
