WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest senior free safety Quintin Williams has been named to the University Division Academic All-District III football team, as selected and announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Williams, who was an Academic All-District selection in 2002 as well, is one of four players making a repeat appearance on the District III team, joining Jason Whaley of Western Carolina, Chris Foster of Gardner-Webb and Jonathan Vilma of Miami. Williams, who has made multiple appearances on the WFU Dean's List and ACC Honor Roll, is currently the Deacs' second-leading tackler with 71 stops this season. He also has three tackles for loss, five pass break-ups, one interception and leads the ACC with three fumble recoveries. He owns a team-high 40 career starts, including 38 consecutive nods. Williams was also recognized earlier this fall for his contributions to the community, as he was named to the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Good Works Team.

District III is made up of all Division I and I-AA schools in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. To be eligible a player must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 in the classroom and be a starter or key reserve on the field. The players selected are now eligible for the national Academic All-America team, which will be announced on December 1st.
