Head Coach Charlene Curtis
"Their 3-point shotting was clearly the difference in the game.
"Even as much, we just played so flat in the first half. I'm not sure if we were tentative because we were playing somebody we weren't sure of. Usually, we're able to get film on teams we play, but we were not able to do that. We think we were a little unsure about them."
"We knew they would play the 2-3 zone, but we did not realize they would extend it out so far. We were unable to practice against that type of zone. What we need to learn is to make adjustments quicker. When we went into that locker room and came back out in the second half, we made adjustments. It was more energy level than anything else. We have to play that way all the time. We are still searching for our identity."
"I was really proud of them in the second half. I thought we played real hard. If we had played the whole game like we did the second half, we would have had a much better result."
"We were able to get a lot of offensive rebounds, but we were so hesitant after we got the rebound. Instead of being aggressive when you go up, even if you get hit, you end up going to the free throw line and make free throws."
"This is a team that's already beaten Georgia Tech and Clemson, those teams were both picked ahead of us, which tells me we're right there. We just need to put the ball in the basket more consistently and make sure we know who we are as a team."
Tonia Brown
"They were very good three-point shooters, and we did not expect them to be that good. We unfortunately found that out the hard way in the first half. We buckled down in the second half."
"One of our team goals is to outrebound our opponents by at least five. We just need to keep rebounding the ball."
Erin Ferrell
"I'm just putting a lot more responsibilty on myself. I am making myself accountable. I hope to model my game after Tiffani Listenbee, which is going to the boards hard and rebound. If I can't hit any shots, the least I can do is rebound."
"One of the things coach said to us is she liked how we played as a team in the second half. We need that all 40 minutes. Our coaches emphasize consistency, and we played great that second half. If we had played like that in the first half, we would have won."
