On the game
"I was really pleased with our defensive effort, especially in the first half. I thought, even in the second half, we kept our intensity on the defensive end. While I was happy with most of our defense, the rebounding is another issue. We have got to improve on our box outs and rebounding."

"I told the team that I was not going to analyze the game right now. I am happy for us to get a win on the road to open the season in an area where we have a lot of family and friends. I am also happy to see people step up. We had people come in and give us solid contribution, especially in the post. Melissa (Washington) and Maya (Bennett) really gave us some quality minutes tonight."

On Tonia Brown's calming play
"That is one of the reasons she is on the floor so much. She plays the two, three and will also run the offense for us. I have so much confidence in her. She has some court savvy. We just have to make sure that she does not get tired which would not allow her to make plays late in games on either end of the floor."
