WFU Head Coach Jim Grobe
On the loss:
"We made too many mistakes, not just offensively but defensively as well. Plus we did some good things. On the defensive end, we didn't do well at stopping the ball, and we're not a very big defensive front."

On the season:
"I'm disappointed that we faded down the stretch."

On the team:
"We have so many young guys, and we will work with them in the off season. We didn't play well at UNC, we played flat against UConn and we played better football today."

WFU Wide Receiver Jason Anderson
On Chris Barclay being second team All-ACC:
"Chris deserves to be on the first team. I feel he is the best running back in the ACC and tonight he ran for a purpose and had a great game. It is just too bad we had to lose."

On End of Season:
"After we beat Clemson we were on a high and thought the rest of the season would be easy. We started talking about bowl games and then we lost to Carolina and UConn and went downhill. We couldn't dig ourselves out of the hole."

WFU Linebacker Brad White
On season:
"We just have to learn from experience. We had young guys but that is no excuse. Now they know how hard it is to have a good season and know that it is 12 games long. It won't be easier next year with Virginia Tech and Miami either. The young players can now understnad that nothing is given. We just have to show that Wake Forest will be an 8, 9, or 10 win football team."

WFU Running Back Chris Barclay
On Maryland Defense:
"They were physical and we got physical back with them. They tend to overpursue and I saw that and made them pay a little."

Motivation for next season:
"As a player, you have to find motivation and I think we will use these past three games to learn. We have to get in the weight room and work hard."

This year:
"As a team we had high expectations. We have done some great things this season. I don't think that five wins is a bad season, but it isn't a great season either. We came up short and didn't win some games we should have."

On Bruce Perry:
"It was like a track meet. I know he is a great back and after the game we congratulated each other and I wished him good luck. This past offseason I sat back with my dad, who tapes all the games and watched him. Sometimes the best way you can learn is film and I just watched the way he played."

WFU Free Safety Quintin Williams
"We are hot and cold. You want to be warm and consistent throughout the season but we were hot and cold. Overall we played hard and I am proud that everyone played as hard as they could."

Maryland Head Coach Ralph Friedgen
On the game:
"First I want to compliment Wake Forest, they played well today. I respect to Jim Grobe and his program. We didnt tackle well in the first half, we just kind of stood there. But I have to compliment our players, they stood together."

On his quarterback:
"Scott McBrien does not have as many stats as the other quarterbacks but he does know how to win."

On the players:
"I think that we are all beat up, the coaches and the players, it's been a long season. No matter how hard you talk to the guys, it seemed like they were in a trance."

Maryland Wide Receiver Jafar Williams
On the Gator Bowl:
"We were not looking towards that, we were totally focused on Wake Forest. They are a good team with an offense that can put points on the board. We knew we would have to score some points to win."

On the season:
"We really have come together as a team, we started out the season on shaky grounds, but our seniors kept everyone focused on the game ahead."

Maryland Center Kyle Schmitt
On Perry's Run:
"It's an offensive lineman's dream to have an 80-yard run, 13-14 play drives can wear on the body, but when you have one play drives, it's in and out, and that's what we like."

On the season:
"We started out the season 0-2 with a loss at Georgia Tech, nobody pointed fingers, we had to battle back and finish out the rest of the season."

On the Wake defense:
"They really didn't run the 3-3-5, they gave us a lot of different looks, we were able to adjust."
