WAKE FOREST HEAD COACH Jim Grobe POSTGAME QUOTES:

On the poor special teams play - "That was as bad as we have been since I have been here. It was really disappointing, especially when you spend as much time on it as we do. That is something that we have been pretty good at. We weren't very good at it against Florida State. I came back and challenged our guys and I thought our special teams were excellent last week against Clemson. Then today just too many mistakes, turnovers, the whole deal. Just about every special team was poor today. We got kicks blocked, fumbled a kickoff return, fumbled a punt return. What it all boils down to is when you play in this league, if you turn the ball over and have a bad kicking game, you are not going to beat anybody. I thought Carolina did a really good job today. Their special teams were excellent, obviously they are fine offensively, and I thought their defense made plays when they needed to. So I am not taking anything away from North Carolina. I thought they did a good job."

On the momentum swings in the game - "I think anytime you are on the road, playing in the ACC, momentum is huge. It is hard on the road when you lose momentum, to get it back. I thought in the first half we had a couple drives that could have given us 14 points. We beat ourselves with penalties that took us out of drives. Give them credit, they blocked a couple field goals and that gave them some momentum. At halftime, I thought we would come out and play better, but you know they came out and played well in the second half, so I think momentum was a real problem today."

On Carolina's running game - "For us it is a mixed bag. You come into the game worrying about Darian Durant. I thought we had to be solid in the throwing game and I felt like their running game had improved in the last couple weeks, but you have to pick your poison against those guys because they are very talented offensively. I guess my biggest disappointment was down the stretch when there was no doubt they were going to try and run the football and we were unable to stop them."
