Head Coach Charlene Curtis
On the game:
"I am very pleased with our defense. We really set the tone early with our pressure. I am more proud of how we converted from the pressure defense. You could tell the girls started to enjoy that."
On Porsche' Jones:
"I like having Porsche' as our point guard. She is a true point guard. She seems to see the floor as I see the floor. It has allowed us to move Bianca Brown to the two guard spot. With Tonia, we have three point guards in our starting lineup and all three are capable of scoring."
On Cotelia Bond-Young:
"Cotelia is playing very well right now, well enough to start. She has started pulling up on her jump shot and not floating. She is really playing with a good confidence level right now."
Sophomore guard Cotelia Bond-Young
On the game:
"I think we came back after a loss against Duke and have played well the last two games. We knew today's game was an early game so we got to bed early. The coaches were prepared, so we were prepared."
On her shooting effort:
"Our plan was to get out on the fast break. We just tried to push the tempo and my shooting is credited to my teammates. Without them, I would not have had that."
Redshirt Freshman guard Porsche' Jones
On playing in front of home crowd:
"It is good to be back with lots of fans. It was a great day for us since we won. I was excited to be out there in front of people I know and people that are cheering my name. I feel like I could have done a better job shooting, but I thought I led the team like I should."
Sophomore forward Liz Strunk
On today's defense:
"We really focused on getting around the post players and denying them the ball to create turnovers. Our ball pressure is what created the turnovers. We also ran the floor and tried to get out quick and when we saw them get tired it made us play harder."
On the upcoming Christmas break"
"We head home the 21st and have to be back on the 26th, but first we will have to take care of business in Princeton and against East Carolina. Then, we can enjoy home for a couple days."
Playing in front of a good crowd:
"It was a lot of fun playing out there today. Kids have a lot of energy and it gives us energy. It is always more fun to play in front of a crowd. We did not think the kids would be able to come so I was surprised and excited."
