Deacons Break Single Game Attendance Record...

Today's attendance was 37,623, breaking the single game attendance record at Groves Stadium. The previous record was 37,411 set in 1980 against North Carolina. In setting the record, Wake Forest shattered the season attendance record. In six games this year, the Deacons drew 184,215 -- an average of 30,702. The previous record was 29,390 set last season

Selmon Makes Second Career Reception...

Redshirt freshman tight end Zac Selmon made his second career reception. He hauled in a 23-yard pass from Mauk on the game's opening drive.

And The Deacons Taketh Away...

Eric King's forced fumble in the first quarter was his second forced fumble of the year, to tie for the ACC lead. It was Wake Forest's ninth force of the year and its seventh recovery as a team which leads the conference.

Plack Attack...

Ryan Plackemeier's 53-yard punt in the second quarter and his 59-yard boot was his 14th and 15th 50-plus yard punts of the season.

McGruder Breaks ACC Interception For TD Record...

For the third time this season, Marcus McGruder returned an interception for a touchdown. That broke the ACC record for most interceptions returned for a touchdown in the same season. Eight players, including former Deacon A.J. Greene, had scored twice in the same year. McGruder's third quarter pick tied the score at 10.

Barclay Goes For 100 Again...

Chris Barclay rushed for 100 yards for the second straight game, the third time this year and the eighth time in his career. He officially carried the ball 30 times for 138 yards and a touchdown. Third Down Trouble...

Wake Forest was second in the ACC in third down conversions coming into the day with a 39.2 percent success rate. However, in the first half, the Deacons were just 1-of-8 on third down. They finished 5-for-16 for the game.

Decided By Seven...

The Deacons have played in six straight games decided by seven points or less, and seven of nine games this season.
