Winston-Salem, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team will look for its third-straight victory Sunday afternoon as they host the Stetson Hatters at Joel Coliseum. If the Deacs win, it will be the second time in as many years that Wake has opened the season with a trio of victories.

The meeting between the two teams will be the first since 1987, when the Hatters came to Winston-Salem and defeated the Deacs, 87-72. Despite the loss, Wake leads the series, 4-1, with the largest margin of victory a 94-80 win on Jan. 9, 1983.

In the last outing, senior Erin Ferrell led the Deacs with her second consecutive double-double (10p/10r), making her the only current Wake Forest player with three career double-doubles. Additionally, she is the first player since Eafton Hill in 2001 to earn consecutive double-doubles. Also against the Tigers, junior Cotelia Bond-Young added a game-high 23 points, five boards and three assists, while Liz Strunk added 14 points and six boards.

Stetson will enter the game coming off a 70-64 season opening victory over Behune-Cookman. Against the Lady Wildcats, four Hatters notched double figures and forced 14 turnovers.

Tip off agains the Hatters is scheduled for noon.
