Q: So today was the first day of classes. How did things go?
BL: It was exciting. I met some new people and I have some new professors. It was an easy day.
Q: You have been put on the Outland Trophy watch list for 2004. Do you feel any extra pressure to perform because of these high expectations?
BL: Not really. It is a great honor to be put on the list, but I am still looking at the team aspect of the game. If by some chance I would be in the final for that honor it would be great, but it wasn't one of my goals at the beginning of the year.
Q: It is your senior season. What would you most like to see from both the team and yourself personally?
BL: As for the team, I would like to get us back to a bowl and as an individual I would like to make the finals of the Outland Trophy, and pick up some All-ACC honors along the way.
Q: You have been noted for your leadership this past off season, setting up the offensive line workouts over the summer. Do you attribute your leadership to anything in particular?
BL: A lot of the last three years I was able to pick up a lot playing under Tyson Clabo, Blake Henry and Vince Azzolina. I have picked up a lot from them and learned what was good and what wasn't from great past players.
Q: Every year, Coach Grobe has a "Bell Cow" on the offensive line. What is a Bell Cow and are you ready to step into that role?
BL: You know, I am from the north and there are a lot of cows, but I don't know what a Bell Cow is. So, I guess I don't really know, but whatever it is I am ready for it.
Q: You have two sisters named Brooke and Brandi. Did your parents name you all with B's for any particular reason?
BL: Yes, actually they do. My sisters and I also all have middle names with the letter `E' so we are all BEL.
