Winston-Salem, NC - Thursday's Practice Report: Thursday's two hour practice took place on the campus fields, under clear and sunny skies with unseasonably mild temperatures for this late in August. While the Deacons dressed in full pads, much of the session was devoted to practice drills and fundamentals, with a small portion towards scrimmaging. Coach Grobe on getting ready for the season opener at Clemson: "I think mentally we are certainly getting there, we're starting to figure things out. Physically our guys are a bit banged up and need some time to heal before next Saturday's game." On The Sideline: Senior Eric King again stood on the sideline for Thursday's practice. He was joined by Kenneth Moore, Nate Morton, Travo Woods, D'Angelo Bryant, Mike Causey and Dominic Anderson. Towards the end of practice, Chris Barclay rolled his ankle and did not complete Thursday's session. None of the injuries, though, are considered to be serious. Upcoming Schedule: The Deacons take the field Friday afternoon at 4:30 on campus, with a Saturday morning scrimmage at Groves Stadium slated for 9:30 am. Wake Forest enjoys a day off on Sunday, with regular game week preparation practices beginning Monday.
