Freshmen Get Early Turnover...
Two redshirt freshmen combined to come up with an early turnover. Chip Vaughn forced a fumble on the opening kickoff and Eric Berry recovered it. It was the first career force and recovery for each player.
Sophomores Get The Next One...
On the next drive, Matt Robinson forced a Quinton Porter fumble and Jon Abbate recovered it on the one yardline. Initially ruled a touchdown, the play was overturned by instant replay.
Barclay Gets Into The Endzone...
Chris Barclay's rushing touchdown in the first quarter was his 37th career score. It tied Warrick Dunn for seventh place in ACC history.
Fourth Down Efficiency...
Wake Forest converted a fourth down opportunity on its first drive, the fourth straight successful conversion. The Deacons were 3-for-3 last week in those situations against FSU.
Happy Days For The Fonz...
Redshirt freshman Alphonso Smith recorded his second interception of the season in the first quarter. It was Wake Forest's third turnover of the quarter. Moments before halftime, Smith blocked a punt. It was his second punt block of the season (East Carolina) and the team's third. In the fourth quarter, he stopped Quinton Porter on a fourth down rush in Wake Forest territory.

Gattis Gets Pick Six...
Josh Gattis' 29-yard interception return was his first Wake Forest touchdown. It also marked the team's first defensive score of the year, the first since last year's UNC game when Marcus McGruder scored the last of his three interception returns for a touchdown.
