Twin City Shootout Luncheon Is Nov. 3

The Twin City Shootout - the second annual basketball exhibition game between Wake Forest and Winston-Salem State - kicks off with a downtown luncheon Nov. 3 at noon in the Benton Convention Center.

Tickets are available to the first 400 customers (200 from each school) at $10 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the door. To reserve a seat, call 336-758-5011. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

Last year's Twin City Shootout marked the first ever meeting on the hardwood between the two Winston-Salem schools. The then-No.2-ranked Demon Deacons beat the Division II Rams, 89-61.

This year's Shootout is a complete day of festivities, beginning with the luncheon. Both head coaches - WFU's Skip Prosser and WSSU's Phillip Stitt - will speak. Players from both teams and bands, cheerleaders and dance teams from both schools will be on hand for the luncheon.

The Wake Forest and Winston-Salem State women's teams meet later that day at 5 p.m. in the first half of a double-header at Joel Coliseum. The Deacon and Ram men's teams should tip-off at shortly after 7 p.m.
