WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 16 Wake Forest men's soccer team looks to rebound following its loss at Maryland as Davidson travels to Spry Stadium Tuesday night. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
In their last outing, the Deacs surrendered three first-half goals and were not able to recover in a 3-1 loss to the Terps.
Wake Forest junior midfielder Ryan Solle not only recorded his NCAA leading 11th assist of the season, but broke the single-season school record for assists. Amazingly, it took the midfielder just nine games. Solle has recorded an assist in seven consecutive games and has 21 for his career which is tied for fifth all-time.
The previous school record for assists in a single-season was 10 shared by Vincente Bastidas (2001), Scott Sealy (2004) and Gary Kingsley (1981).
The Wildcats enter the match following their 1-0 victory over Wofford. Davidson (6-3-1) is led by Robbie Hoak. Despite starting just four matches, the sophomore midfielder has scored five goals and dished out two assists. Matt Allen and Tom Lavan each have added three goals, while Ben Ashton has recorded three shutouts in goal for the Wildcats.
The Demon Deacons have captured each of the previous seven meetings with Davidson. Wake Forest has not lost to the Wildcats since 1997. The Deacs lead the all-time series with Davidson, 18-4-1 and are 10-1-1 all-time against the Wildcats in Winston-Salem.
