Winston-Salem, N.C. - Wake Forest Head Coach Mike Petersen:
ON THE GAME: :
"I told the team afterwards, I have absolutely no issues with how hard this team competes. However, NC St. is ranked 19th in the country because, as a program, they're pretty mature and they make those plays in the close games, and right now as a program we need to mature."
"We're three plays right now from having 17 wins. At the same time, I have nothing but respect for this group I'm coaching. They compete hard every time. I think they did a great job tonight against a very good team."
Wake Forest Forward Liz Strunk:
"I really think that having Cotelia being an outside threat, they have to come out and guard her, so that opens up the paint a lot more for me. When you have the threats from the outside, it really opens up the inside for me."
N.C. State Associate Head Coach Stephanie Gelance:
ON THE GAME:
"All credit is due to Wake Forest. We knew coming in that is would be this kind of game. We felt like it would go down to the wire because Wake Forest is playing very well. They gave us some match-up problems at times. Every person on the team made a great contribution."
ON Liz Strunk:
"She is a very good player. The interesting thing is that we had two of our best defenders on her in the second half and we still were not very effective guarding her. She and Erin Ferrell present match-up problems because they can both shoot the three and take the ball to the basket."
