Winston-Salem, NC - The Wake Forest track and field teams will travel to the Carolina Classic in Chapel Hill, NC and the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind. this weekend. The Deacons look to improve upon an already promising season, including 21 top-five finishes in 15 events in just three meets so far this Spring.

Teams participating in the Carolina Classic include Campbell, Central Florida (women only), Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina (women only), College of Charleston (women only), Duke, Elon (women only), Furman (women only) High Point, Liberty, NC State, Richmond, UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC-Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, Virginia Commonwealth, Virginia Intermont, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Western Carolina and William & Mary.

The meet will be hosted by the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, in the Eddie Smith Field House.

Notre Dame hosts the 15th annual Meyo Invitational at the Loftus Sports Center on campus in South Bend. The meet has recently featured several athletes breaking four minute miles. In the last two seasons alone, nine runners have broken through the magical four-minute mark. This year's race is expected to feature a defending NCAA mile champion, two former Meyo Mile winners, a slew of All-Americans, and no less than six runners with personal best times of 4:04 or better.

The mile however will not be the only great event on the weekend. The Meyo Invitational is always packed with outstanding performances from start to finish. A year ago, the meet saw 69 NCAA Championship qualifications, and over the years numerous track and school records have been shattered. All of the finals at the Invitational, as well as the fastest heat of each distance race will take place Saturday between 2:00 and 4:30. The Meyo Mile will start promptly at 2:30, and as always a large crowd is expected.
