Charlotte vs. Wake Forest (WNIT 1st Round) Wake Forest Head Coach Mike Petersen

On today's victory:

"This team has been such a privilege to coach. To win in this fashion against a basketball team like Charlotte in the postseason tournament--I think that is as big as it gets."

On sluggishness of the team:

"I was very worried. Balancing my concern about the time off, was the fact that we have had good practices. Our practice on Monday was the best practice that we have had all year, and I was stunned. This squad showed up so ready practice and we had good practices all week leading up to it. I was concerned about us having a little rust, but I was not concerned about us playing hard--I figured that we would play pretty hard."

On the margin of victory:

"I was very surprised at the margin of victory. Charlotte is a very good basketball, especially a very disruptive, defensive team. They force a lot of turnovers and create a lot of offense with their defense. We did not turn the ball over and had great play from our guards and made a lot of simple plays that lead to good shots.
